Evening At The New Refugee Camp In Samos Island, Greece

The automated doors open only with the card and biometric confirmation. Evening sunset time outside of the barbed wire fence of the new camp for asylum seekers. A New Refugee camp has been created in Greece with the support of the EU. The new camp is a closed controlled facility where people can enter only by using their card in addition to their biometrical fingerprint. The new camp can host up to 3500 people, split in 8 different main areas according to the group category or the ethnicity. On September 21 the authorities moved all the remaining people from the former camp located in Vathi - Samos to the new one without any problems and resistance. Building and additional work is still in process. Police and security do a screening - security check before entering in the camp. Right now 283 people are located in the new facility that was officially opened a few days ago with European representation.
