'Faucheurs Volontaires' Demands French Gov To Obey The Law About GMOS
Protesters distribute leaflets to passers-by. Members of the collective 'Faucheurs Volontaires' gathered in front of the Prefecture of Haute-Garonne to protest against the non-prohibition by the French government of GMOs plants produced by gene editing, by use of Crispr cas9 to obtain VRTH plants (Variety tolerance with herbicides). The Conseil d'Etat has said in 2020 that these kinds of plants obtained by mutagenesis must be considered by the French law as a GMO and, therefore, being forbidden to grow. But to date, the french government hasn't forbid these cultures g and is considered to be in breach of the law. Toulouse. France. December 4th 2021. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
