Polish-Bielarus Border Crisi
Volunteers, Agata and Karolina of Ocalenie (Salvation) Foundation seek cnotact with a group of Syrian refugees who got lost in podlaskie woodlands after crossing from Bielarus - Sokolka, podlaskie voivodship, Poland on December 16,2021. Ocalenie is one of few NGO’s helping the migrants who try to cross the border in dire conditions. Polish government annonced no entry zone by Polish-Bielarus border guarded by tens of thousands soldiers and police due to an infaux of immigrants, mainly from the Middle East. The border between Belarus and Poland is also the border of the European Union. Poland accuses Lukashenko regime of orchestrating the transit of thousands of migrants from the Middle East to put pressure on the EU and of using the migrants as a weapon. Due to the crisis the EU proposed new border laws which jeopardise free movement. (Photo by Dominika Zarzycka/NurPhoto)
