Demand for COVID-19 testing increases in Portugal as case numbers rise ahead of the Christmas Festivities

COVID-19 test sticks are seen at a COVID-19 testing center in Cascais, Portugal, on December 22, 2021. As the number of COVID-19 cases keeps on the rise across the country, Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa announced on Tuesday additional measures to contain the spread of Covid-19, such as a mandatory negative test result to access restaurants and public celebrations during Christmas and New Year's. People will also need to test negative for the virus to access cinemas, theatres, sports events, weddings and baptisms until at least 9 January. (Photo by Pedro Fiúza/NurPhoto)
