Health And Childcare Workers Protest For More People

A nurse wears a shirt reading 'Exhausted health workers : children in danger'. Doctors, nurses, nursing auxiliaries and ordinary people protested against the lack of means for public hospitals as the number of beds are still cut. The Macron's government has cut 5.700 beds in public hospitals only in 2021. The health workers of the Children hospital of Toulouse (part of the University hospital Purpan) are on strike as some nurses quit the service and some other think about suicide due to bad work conditions. They also protest as every part of public health services in France suffer from a lack of money and people. Since several yearss, personnel working in public hospitals demand more means and more people. The lack of health workers, beds, money and the Covid-19 pandemic has put french public hospitals at saturation point. They denounce a reduction of people in emergencies services in public hospitals and demand 10 000 nurses more. The medicosocial sector was also on strike. Toulouse. France. January 11th 2022.
