Illuminated Grand Place Square In Brussels

Panoramic night view with the illuminated historic picturesque buildings of Grand Place square in the Belgian capital. The Grand Place - Grand Square or Grote Markt is a central square in Brussels. It is surrounded by opulent Baroque guildhalls of the former Guilds of Brussels, two larger edifices, the city's Flamboyant Town Hall, and the neo-Gothic King's House or Bread House building containing the Brussels City Museum. The Grand Place began construction in the 11th century and was largely complete by the 17th. Grand Place is the most important tourist destination, an attraction with cafes, restaurants and museums and most memorable landmark in Brussels, one of the most visited squares in Europe. It is also considered one of the most beautiful squares in the world and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998. The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic reduced the number of tourists visiting the country and the square. Brussels, Belgium on January 30, 2022 (Photo by Nicolas Economou/NurPhoto)
