Blockade Of The Regional Council Of Occitania By Activists Against The Terra2 Giant Warehouse

The placard reads 'Development of an alternative project of market gardening' and the 2nd one depicts Christophe Ramond, head of the Tarn council and reading 'The Green Deal is in a bad shape'. Several dozens of activists from XR, ANV-COP21, ATTAC, Youth for Climate gathered in front of the Regional Council of Occitania to protest against the building of a giant warehouse called Terra2 near Toulouse. They are opposed to this giant warehouse projected for Amazon or Alibaba as it will cover several agricultural fields. The Terra2 wharehouse shoud be 533 m lenght, 125m wide and 14m height, it would be in the top 10 of the biggest warehouses in France. The construction works shouldn't have begun this winter as Stop Terra2 has asked the justice to judge the legality of the project and the legality of the destruction of 102 protected species. After 2 hours of blocking the Regional Couoncil of Occitania, activists deblocked the entrance. Toulouse. France. February 9th 2022. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
