Jalangi River Is In Danger
Uncontrolled excavation of the riverside soil has reduced the navigability of the Jalangi River and closed the source route of the river. Fish in the river has decreased due to hydrocarbons, pesticides from agriculture fields, depletion of dissolved oxygen, plastics, and sewage. Various awareness programs are being taken acts to save the Jalangi River all over the Nadia district, in Tehatta, Nadia, West Bengal, India, on 17 February 2022. (Photo by Soumyabrata Roy/NurPhoto)
