Ukrainian Refugees Arrives In Molfetta, Italy

Don Gino Samarelli, parish priest of the Cathedral of Molfetta interviewed by journalists, just got off the bus that traveled 2000 km to save Ukrainian families from the war, on 11 March 2022 in Molfetta at Banchina Seminario. Started on Tuesday 8 March 2022 from Molfetta, the humanitarian mission to save Ukrainians who fled the war and returned tonight. 45 people (including a newborn) and 3 puppies were rescued. An initiative born spontaneously from the will of the parish priest of the Duomo Don Gino Samarelli and made possible thanks to the collaboration with the Diocese and the social services of the Municipality of Molfetta as well as Sermolfetta. In Lviv the meeting with this group of people who were accompanied on their journey to Italy: many embraced relatives and family or friends in intermediate stages, five blind men transported to an ad hoc center in Foggia while in 13 will remain in Molfetta, hosted in a system that will see local parishes at the forefront (Photo by Davide Pischettola/NurPhoto)
