Trial Of Three Anti GMOs In Toulouse

A woman, memeber of the 'Faucheurs Volontaires' speaks to the press. Three 'faucheurs volontaires' ie 'Volunteer Reapers' go on trial in Toulouse for the destruction of .75ha of cultivated fields with sunflowers. These sunflowers were part of a test for a Vegetable Variety Tolerant At Herbicides (VrTH) in 2017. The test project was called SYPPRE and made by Arvalis (cropmaker), the Beetroot Technical Institute and by Terres-Inovia. VrTH are considered by French Justice as GMOs, and GMOs are forbidden to farm in France (and the EU). Thus, the 'faucheurs volontaires" say they are entitled to destroy these crops as they can't be farm in Europe. They consider themselves as civil disobedients. Toulouse. France. March 30th 2022.
