Extinction Rebellion Earth Day demonstration against fossil fuels
Extinction Rebellion hosts a a rally and march against fossil fuels at the John Wilson building, where the DC government is located. In addition to a general protest against fossil fuels, demonstrators specifically demanded that DC refuse to permit Washington Gas to expand its methane delivery infrastructure. It is not clear how much of the roughly $5 billion investment would be used to repair the hundreds of gas leaks documented in DC. (Photo by Allison Bailey/NurPhoto)
