Parachutists Jump Over Ponte Di Mezzo For The Day Of Solidarity

Pisan schoolchildren watched the parachutists jump over Ponte di Mezzo, in memory of Captain Nicola Ciardelli, who lost his life in Nassirya during a peace mission in Pisa, Italy, on March 27, 2022. The Day of Solidarity is back again after two years. The closing ceremony in the morning in Piazza XX Settembre, to witness, in the presence of the city authorities and representatives of the Nicola Ciardelli Onlus Association, the Ponte di Mezzo jump, organised by the Army's Sport Parachuting Section. About 140 classes took part in the in-person courses. Participation extended to the municipalities of San Giuliano, Palaia, Vicopisano, Bientina, Cascina and Pontedera, and to the Province of Lucca. The event, promoted by the Nicola Ciardelli Onlus Association in collaboration with the Municipal Administration and the Regional School Office of Pisa, is open to all students in the area.
