The Indian rat snake or Oriental rat snake (Ptyas mucosa) is the second-longest colubrid snake in the world. The longest recorded rat snake is 3.7 m or over 12 feet. These snakes are harmless to humans, they a fast-moving, excitable snake that plays a very crucial role in the food chain.
