Hawick, UK. 10.Jun.2022. 2022 Hawick Common Riding A Teri ( a native of Hawick) Raighan McGee, enjoys a traditional rum and milk at the start of the day. In his riding attire, wearing the Cornets Tie and the ribbons of blue and gold in support of his town, also proudly showing his Mosstroopers badge. The Hawick Common Riding is the first of the Border Common Ridings and celebrates both the capture of an English Flag, by the youth of Hawick at the military skirmish of Hornshole in 1514 and the ancient custom of riding the marches or boundaries of the common land.
