New Mexicans Protest In State Capitol Against U.S. Supreme Court Abortion Ruling
Several dozen people protested on Friday, 24 June, 2022, in front of the state capitol building in Santa Fe, New Mexico, against the decision this morning by the United States Supreme Court to overturn the 50-year-old Roe v. Wade ruling which made abortion legal across the United States. Santa Fe Mayor Alan Webber was in attendance and lent his support to the protest. New Mexico is considered a “safe haven” state and has guaranteed access to abortion irrespective of this morning’s Supreme Court ruling.
