Polish-Lithuanian Border Crossing
Caws rest in the Polish side of Suwalki Gap in rural agricultural lanscape on June 29, 2022 at Polish-Lituanian border near the E67 road. The Polish border with Lithuania is situated between Kaliningrad oblast (part of Russia) and Belarus and stretches 100 kilometers. The Area is called Suwalki Gap and is the only connection between Baltic States and the rest of the NATO and European Union. After Lithuania refused to transport sanctioned goods via rail from Russia's mainland to Kaliningrad, Vladimir Putin, Russian president, threatened Lithuania with serious consequences. Both NATO and European Union worry that Suwalki Gap, a relatively narrow corridor with Baltic States can be attacked by Russia (Photo by Dominika Zarzycka/NurPhoto)
