Maggot Farming From Kitchen Waste In Indonesia
Ilham (29 years) feeds maggot from kitchen waste and organic waste in Siliragung village, Banyuwangi, East Java, Indonesia, on August 1, 2022. The maggot farming is produced from kitchen waste from a mining company and traditional market waste around. In one month it produces 100 kilograms. It sells for (wet maggot) USD 0,28 / kilograms and (dry maggot) for USD 5,38 / kilograms. In addition, they produce compost for USD 2,36/25 kilograms and soil fertilizer booster for USD 0,47/kilograms. Maggot BSF (Black Soldier Fly) is the larva of a large black fly. The maggot business is managed by young people who are members of the community (PEGE) from the CSR assistance of the PT.
