US Senate to vote again on Honoring Our PACT Act, August 2, 2022

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is greeted with a hug by 9/11 first responders advocate John Feal as he delivers good news to the veterans outside the Capitol: the Honoring Our PACT Act will be voted on later in the afternoon and is expected to pass. The legislation will establish a connection between military service and exposure to toxins via burn pits, as well as other sources, easing access to healthcare for veterans and active duty members. The bill passed originally the Senate with 84 votes, after a technical change was made, Republican Senators voted it down last week, claiming that it contained unrelated spending.
