The Acropolis Museum

The Acropolis Museum in Athens as seen from the hill of Acropolis and the Parthenon. The exterior panoramic view of the archaeological museum, that is focused on the findings of the site of the Acropolis of Athens and lies on the ruins of part of Roman and early Byzantine Athens. The museum is located by the southeastern slope of the Acropolis hill on the road leading to the sacred rock, just 280 meters away from the Parthenon. The building was designed by Bernard Tschumi. There are more than 4250 objects exhibited. Greece is requesting the return of the Parthenon Marbles or Elgin marbles from the British Museum and the United Kingdom as Italy recently returned a piece of the frieze in the museum.
