Drought: Garonne River At A New Low In Toulouse
An old tyre amid algae is seen in the Garonne river due to the water low levels. Due to the drought, the Garonne river in Toulouse is below its normal flow : 52cm of water is measured where its normal is 55cm and its flows is about 49 cubic meters per second against a normal of 55. One can see the Garonne' riverbed and little islands are forming in the Garonne river. In July, rain was 88% less abundant than normal : France is experiencing its worst drought since rain records began in 1959. SW of France and Toulouse are enduring another round of scorching heat. Water restrictions are in place all over France. Toulouse. August 09th 2022. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
