Due to the death of England's Queen Elizabeth II, the national flag at Galle face has been flown at half-mast. September 09, 2022 Colombo, Sri Lanka. Due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II of England, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe instructed all government institutions in Sri Lanka to fly the national flag at half-mast. Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, has died at Balmoral, aged 96, after reigning for 70 years. Queen Elizabeth II was the Queen of Ceylon from 1952 to 1972.
