A Syrian boy in a Hotel in Kos, on November 1, 2015. Many Syrians living around the Island of Kos Greece in hotels as the tourist season ends locals finding ways to subsidise winter income. Hundreds of Syrians are living around many hotels in Kos as the tourist season has ended in Kos. Local hotel owners wait by the coastline with cards for hotels willing to take in migrants and refugees who have the money. In most cases the hotel rates for refugees and migrants will be at a discount but rooms often over the capacity having 6-7 living on one single rented room. As the winter approaches refugees and migrants are fast looking for ways to avoid the camps being set up by the UNHCR around Europe to accommodate the influx of people arriving to Europe, but for many a hotel is not an financial option even at a discount.
