Historical Drought In France: Drop In Yields Of Sunflower Crops
A dry sunflowers field in Bram, France. Due to a drought not seen in more than 500 years in Europe, yields are falling or are lost in France. Even sunflowers are dying in the fields due to the of rain. The french production of sunflowers will be 2.9% less than in 2021 but on a surface area 22.5% more than in 2021. At equal surface area, the production will be 24% lower than in 2021. Bram (near Toulouse), in Aude, France, on September 19th 2022. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
