Riots At Indonesian Football Match, More Than 100 Dead
Persija Jakarta football club supporters held a candle light vigil for Arema FC supporters who became a victims of soccer riots, in Jakarta, on October 2, 2022. At least 174 peoples dead and hundreds injuried in a riots at a soccer match between Arema FC and Persebaya FC in Kanjuruhan stadium, East Java province on Saturday night, Oct 1st. The riots occurred when thousands of Arema supporters stormed the field after their team lost 2-3 to Persebaya FC. Police tried to control the situation by firing tear gas which sparked riots and panic among supporters as they scrambled for the exit gate.
