Indigenous People" Lumad" Perform Ritual, As They Call For Justice

MANILA, Philippines - Members of the indigenous people group in the Philippines called “Lumad” along with students dip their hands with blood of the sacrificed chicken after the tribesmen perform a ritual called “Pamaas” shortly after the 6th Mindanao Human Rights Summit inside a University in Manila on 12 November 2015. The ritual, wherein they sacrifice chickens as offering to the spirits is an essential part of their culture. The lumads attended the Human Rights Summit as part of their protest calling for justice and an end to the attacks on their schools and communities in their home in Mindanao, southern most part of the Philippines.
