National March for Iran in Washington, DC
Demonstrators hold their phone lights high as they sing "Soroode Zan" during a march in support of protests in Iran, now entering their sixth week. The song is one of two written for the protests currently taking place in Iran. Protests began when 22-year-old Mahsa Amini died in custody of Iran’s morality police September 16, 2022, after being arrested for “improperly” wearing her hijab. The protests represent the most serious threat to the Islamic regime in decades. (Photo by Allison Bailey/NurPhoto)
