Group protests against Vale and BHP Billiton in downtown Rio

Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil, November 16th 2015: Protesters group protest in downtown Rio against Vale, a company that is a partner of Samarco, along with BHP Billiton. Recently a serious accident decimated Rio Doce passing for 230 Brazilian cities and that supplied drinking water to more than 3 million people. Disruption of two dams of industrial waste resulting from the mining of iron caused the death of at least 11 people and there are another 15 missing. Several cities were inundated by an avalanche of millions of cubic meters of mud and water contaminated with iron ore production remains in Minas Gerais. (Photo by Luiz Souza/NurPhoto)
