The Black-Hooded Oriole In India
The black-hooded oriole (Oriolus xanthornus) is a member of the oriole family of medium-sized yellow passerine birds and is a resident breeder in tropical wooded gardens and open forests of southern Asia from India and Sri Lanka east to Indonesia. This bird nest is built in a tree and contains two eggs. Its food is insects and fruit, especially figs, found in the tree canopies where they spend much of their time. This bird's song is rich, fluty, and mellow. Calls include raspy, nasal notes that can sound like a croak.
