ISince 2016, Awab Abdullah has intensively campaigned for energy transformation from electricity sourced from coal power plants and diesel generators, to environmentally friendly solar energy for the surrounding community, including fishermen. The solar energy is not only used for household electricity needs, but can also be used to power small and medium industrial equipment, as well as for electricity needs for fishing boats. This energy transformation is acknowledged by the fishermen, besides reducing noise and air pollution from diesel generators, the use of solar panels is also very helpful for them from an economic, which can save fuel costs significantly.
