Day Of The Dead In Mexico

Inhabitants of the Island of Janitzio located in the State of Michoacán, Mexico, visited the community pantheon to place candles, blankets with cempasúchil flowers and offerings on the occasion of the Day of the Dead in Mexico, which is celebrated on November 1 and 2. According to Purépecha legend, an indigenous people from the lacustrine and mountainous regions of central Michoacán, it is said that when they die, souls fly like monarch butterflies over an enchanted lake to the island of Janitzio, and it is enough to open the heart so that when crossing the lake by boat you can see the souls dragged through the waters of Lake Pátzcuaro.
