Toronto In Solidarity With The Anti-government Protesters In Iran
Mural motivated by the death of Mahsa Amini in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on November 18, 2022. Iranian-Canadian artist Mahyar Amiri's mural entitled 'Regime' depicts a woman in red hijab dripping in red paint, references the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian Kurd who had been recently visiting Tehran when she was arrested by local morality police for allegedly wearing her hijab too loosely. She died in police custody three days later. Her death has sparked a wave of protests and brutal crackdowns throughout Iran. (Photo by Creative Touch Imaging Ltd./NurPhoto)
