Cremation Along The Bagmati Riverbank At Pashupatinath

The body of a high-caste man of importance along the bank of the Bagmati River as preparations are made for his cremation at Pashupatinath in Nepal. According to Hindu religion and traditions the dead must be cremated. Bodies are cremated according to custom and the ashes and remains are swept into the holy waters. The Bagmati runs into the Ganges further South and is considered equally holy to Hindus. The complex at Pashupatinath is the holiest Hindu site in Nepal.
