Anopheles Mosquito
According to WHO’s latest World malaria report, there were an estimated 241 million malaria cases and 627 000 malaria deaths worldwide in 2020. Anopheles mosquitoes breed only in clean, sunlit water. Anopheles mosquitoes transmit malaria. They bite late at night (between 10 pm and 4 am) and are most abundant in rural areas. Female mosquitoes take blood meals for egg production, and these blood meals are the link between the human and the mosquito hosts in the parasite life cycle.
