Christmas Time In Eastern Poland

The fish is traditionally bougth alive and prepared at home on Christmas Eve. The tradition is now highly criticised by animal rights groups as cruel. The activists say that animals are transported and kept in small basins with little or no access to water and killed at home by individuals who are not experienced and might cause unnecessary pain.
