Elanus Caeruleus In India
The black-winged kite (Elanus caeruleus), also known as the black-shouldered kite, is a small diurnal bird of prey (Raptor) in the family Accipitridae best known for its habit of hovering over open grasslands in the manner of the much smaller kestrels. A rare sighting of a juvenile black-winged kite (Elanus caeruleus) bird hunts a bronze-winged jacana (Metopidius indicus) bird from a swamp of Purbasthali OxBow Lake known as 'Chupi Char' and eats it on the bamboo of a fishing net in East Burdawan, West Bengal; India on January 09, 2023.
