Thaipusam Festival 2023

Indonesian Hindu-Tamil devotees paraded a 132 year old golden chariot through city streets during the Thaipusam festival on February 5, 2023 in Medan, Indonesia. Thaipusam is celebrated with faith, perseverance, and penance, as where a festival of thanksgiving and reverence by the Tamil people to the god of war and in commemoration of the day when Goddess Pavarthi gave her son Lord Muruga an invincible spear with which to destroy evil demons.
