St. Trifon Celebration In Byala, Bulgaria
Orthodox Bulgarians cut a vine as a part of celebrating the wine feast called St.Trifon's day in the town of Byala some 320 kms.(200 miles) east of the Bulgarian capital Sofia Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2023. St Trifon the Pruner is Bulgarias patron saint of the vine. The pruning ritual symbolises the end of winter and the awakening of the vines. The balkan country is one of biggest wine producers in the World but one of its mine importer Russia dropped Bulgaria-Russia wine trade more than 15 times due the sanctions against Russia.
