Biden hosts screening of "Till" at the White House
President Joe Biden delivers remarks before a screening of the film “Till” at the White House, as part of Black History Month. The movie follows the mother of Emmett Till, Mamie Till-Mobley and her quest for justice after her son is lynched in Mississippi in 1955, and his killers acquitted of the crime. Her relentless efforts made a major contribution to the Civil Rights Movement. Decades later, Carolyn Bryant recanted her testimony that Till had made advances toward her, and Roy Bryant (Carolyn’s husband) and J.W. Milam confessed to the brutal killing.
