A protestor chants slogans at an anti-government protest on February 20, 2023, in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (Opposition Party) held a protest at Colombo Fort, demanding that the election not be postponed. For that, many members of parliament, including opposition leader Sajith Premadasa, as well as many supporters of the party, joined. The protest was also held to demand the lowering of the cost of living and the resignation of President Ranil Wickremesinghe. The protest was supposed to march to the President's Secretariat in Colombo, but the police dispersed the protest by firing water and tear gas. (Photo by Thilina Kaluthotage/NurPhoto)
