VA: Person Shot And Killed By Police Near Tysons Corner Center Mall In Fairfax

Person shot and killed by police near the Tysons Corner Center mall in Fairfax, Virginia, United States on February 22, 2023. A police officer shot and killed a man near the Bloomingdale's store at Tysons Corner Center, the man was shot in the upper body in the 8100 block of Fashion Boulevard. In a news conference Wednesday night, Police Chief Kevin Davis said loss prevention officers at the mall called Fairfax County police about a theft in progress. He said officers responded and approached the suspect, who fled and the man was chased on foot by a uniformed and plainclothes officer from inside the mall to a small wooded area across from the parking lot, about a quarter mile distance and for a reason still under investigation, the police chief said both officers fired at the suspect in the wooded area.
