Ukrainian Refugees And Locals Unite In Prayer At 'Light For Ukraine' Vigil In Grabie

GRABIE, POLAND - FEBRUARY 23: Young Ukrainian kids gathered around a board with a map of Ukraine, pointing to their hometowns with excitement during the 'Light for Ukraine' ceremony, which brought together refugees and locals to pray for peace, with the lighting of candles and commemorating the anniversary of Russia's invasion, on February 23, 2023, in Grabie, Wieliczka commune, Poland. Nestled in the heart of Grabie, the Help Center for Ukraine is a beacon of hope for war refugees. Established in collaboration with the Samaritan Brothers, this Center has been a temporary home to thousands of people fleeing the conflict. Today, it continues to provide sanctuary and support to over 260 women and children, who have access to education and essential services. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Wieliczka commune and the Samaritan Brothers, the Center remains a vital source of assistance for those in need. (Photo by Artur Widak/NurPhoto)
