Mexica New Year In Mexico

Pre-Hispanic dancers place an offering in Mexico City's Zocalo, prior to the massive pre-Hispanic dance on the occasion of the Mexica New Year 11 Carrizo in Mexico. According to historical data from the National Institute of Anthropology and History, every new year an offering was dedicated to the god Xiuhtecuhtli, also known as the old god, Huehueteotl, the lord of fire, lord of the year.
