March Of Remembrance Marks 80th Anniversary Of Krakow Ghetto Liquidation
KRAKOW, POLAND - MARCH 12: One of the 70 metal sculpture chairs of various sizes, commemorating the victims of the Holocaust, referring to the abandoned furniture lying around the square during the liquidation of the ghetto, seen on the 80th anniversary of the liquidation of the Krakow Ghetto, in Krakow, Poland, on March 12, 2023. The March of Remembrance marked the 80th anniversary of the liquidation of the ghetto in Krakow's Podgorze, where 17,000 Jews were confined during World War II. The march followed the path taken by Jews forced to leave the ghetto for forced labor and death at the former KL Plaszow concentration camp, where two thousand were brutally killed in March 1943. Through this event, organisers honor their memories and emphasize the importance of respect, tolerance, and compassion for all individuals. (Photo by Artur Widak/NurPhoto)
