Lebanese Pound Plunges Amid A Deteriorating Economic Crisis

The Lebanese pound has sunk to a historic low against the US dollar on the country's parallel market again, amid a worsening economic crisis and political deadlock, in Beirut, Lebanon, on March 14, 2023. The Lebanese pound, officially pegged at 15,000 to the dollar, is trading at more than 100,000 to the dollar for the first time since the economic crisis began in Lebanon in 2019.
