Animal India
The pale grass blue (Pseudozizeeria maha), is a small butterfly found in South Asia that belongs to the lycaenids or blues family. The Fukushima nuclear accident in March 2011 caused the massive release of anthropogenic radioactive materials from the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant to its surrounding environment. The pale grass blue butterfly, Zizeeria maha has been used as an environmental indicator species for radioactive pollution after the Fukushima nuclear accident. A pale grass blue is extracted nectar from the wildflower at Tehatta, West Bengal, India on 16/03/2023. (Photo by Soumyabrata Roy/NurPhoto)
