Bali Nyepi Day 2023
A joint unit of officers, comprised of Pecalang, the Community Protection Unit (Linmas), and the Regional Security Agency (Bakamda), conducted patrols around Bali's Jimbaran area on Nyepi Day, Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Nyepi Day is considered a Holy Day that marks the beginning of the new year of Saka 1945, during which Hindus engage in self-reflection by refraining from four activities: Amati Geni (not being fiery, emotional, also including not using fire or electricity), Amati Karya (not working), Amati Lelungan (not traveling or leaving the house), and Amati Lelanguan (not indulging in worldly pleasures).(Photo by Keyza Widiatmika/NurPhoto)
