Drought In Northern Italy: The Aridity Of The Ticino River.
People rest on the sand of the beach of the Ticino river near the Ponte Delle Barche (Boat Bridge). This bridge, made by boats is located in Bereguardo, near Pavia. Ticino stream in the Pavia area, on march 22, 2023,a tributary of the Po, suffers from an extreme reduction in water flow due to drought. The official data of the Observatory of the Po River Authority confirm that, at the start of the irrigation season, the shortage is of particular concern for the coming months. After a consistent drought throughout the course of 2022, the Po river and its basin have a water flow rate of less than usual. Long-term forecasts do not indicate that the weather will change with significant precipitation in the short term. Drought is not an unusual phenomenon, but the frequency with which it has recurred in recent years is also becoming worrying about the impacts it has on animals, flora, and agricultural activities.
