The streak-throated woodpecker (Picus xanthopygaeus) is a species of woodpecker found in the Indian subcontinent. Streak-throated inhabits open forests from lowlands up into the foothills, usually in drier areas. It is a Lime-green woodpecker with a gray face and finely scaled underparts, Crown is blood red in males and black in females. They are non-migratory in nature. A male streak-throated woodpecker is eating insects like beetle larvae (grubs) and other prized morsels using its tongue from a tree in the forest at Tehatta, West Bengal; India on 01/04/2023.
