Malaysia Chinese Qing Ming Festival

Malaysian ethnic Chinese visit the grave of their ancestors during the Qingming festival at a cemetery in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on April 4, 2023. QingMing or Tomb Sweeping Day is an annual Chinese festival to pay homage and to commemorate the departed ancestral spirits. During this time, Chinese people will sweep and clean the tombs of their ancestors. The replicas made of paper such handphones, branded apparel, luxury cars are burnt near the urns and graves of ancestors as the Chinese believe that they can receive the items. Qing Ming falls on April 5 but the ritual can be observed up to 10 days before or after the date. (Photo by Mohd Firdaus/NurPhoto)
