Locals In A Remote Town In The Philippines Mark The Holy Week With A Distinct Tradition

Called ''estokadahan'' participants attempt to rid their opponent of the feathers behind their headpiece. According to the local tourism office, the unique costume came to be when locals who couldn't afford the traditional centurion armor came up with their own, adorning their tunics with makeshift feathers made out of crepe paper.
